David SALLERAS was born in Figueres, Spain, in 1980. After finishing his studies in saxophone at the Conservatori Superior de Música de Barcelona when he was only 18 years old (with the highest qualifications), he won a Spanish government scholarship to continue his studies in France studying with Jean-Yves Fourmeau at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Cergy- Pontoise and with Nicolas Prost at the Conservatoire de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. At both conservatoires, he was awarded the Gold Medal unanimously and with the congratulations of the jury.

He has also distinguished himself by demonstrating an outstanding sense of improvisation, blending classical, contemporary, and traditional Spanish musical idioms. His flexibility and knowledge of multiple musical genres coupled with his unique ideas has resulted in a highly successful international career. A recipient of numerous international awards, he has given concerts in Europe, South Africa, and South America.

David Salleras is a Selmer Artist and a Vandoren Artist. His compositions are performed and recorded by saxophonists from around the world. Since 2008 he has taught at the Conservatori Isaac Albeniz de la Diputació de Girona (Spain) and is also Head of the Department for Wind Instruments.
