Gotkovsky, Ida

Ida Gotkovsky was born into a family of musicians. She is of French nationality, and her studies at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris earned all of the prizes of writing and composition. She is known for a considerable number of works, including chamber music, orchestral music, instrumental music, vocal music and operas. From the beginning of her career, the character and form of her works have won many awards, including Prix Lily Boulanger, Prix Blumenthal, Premier Prix du Referendum Pasdeloup, Prix International de Divonne-les-Bains, Medaille de la Ville de Paris, Grand Prix Musical de la Ville de Paris, Deux Prix de l'Institut de France, Golden Rose, and Prix de la SACEM.

Her reputation transcends borders, and she has been asked to participate and preside on international juries. This coincides with the interpretation of her music in Europe, USA, Japan, USSR, etc... where the works are received as ambassadors of French Culture. Her entire oeuvre is marked by the creative force and rigor that she devotes to the development of musical heritage. Her work is also well-represented in the genre of symphonic band music, as in the orchestral and operatic genres. She remains a member of SACEM in France.
